I have the CT4850HO and by far it is the best tool that i own, I dont think you can get a cordless with more breakaway torque than this model (620ft lbs.). It really is awsome, And the batterys last forever

I have a Milwaukee V28 cordless and would buy it, again.

The Lithium Ion batteries can be used immediately when charging completes. No waiting for the battery to cool, first. 5-year guarantee or 2000 charges.

Well, here are links with more info (will save my lame typing)

The things that I like best about any product, and Milwaukee is like this are:

1-dependability-they work when you need them to.
2-they last
3-customer service after the sale, if needed.
4-easy to contact the company and get a reply to questions.

I bough a refurbished dry cut chop saw from Ebay. Great seller. But, the clamping handle was bent and not really usable. I contacted the seller and Milwaukee. He contacted Milwaukee on my behalf, too. I got an email that I had two complete new clamping units, not just the handle coming free of charge. I got a hold of Milwaukee and told them both units were not needed and they were appreciative and sent one. A brand new assembly, free, no shipping, nothing. The refurbished items get a 5-year guarantee, also. Too many companies have almost no way to contact them and won't stand behind what they sell. Milwaukee does.

Five Year/2,000 Charge Limited Warranty For All V™ Technology Lithium-Ion Batteries

04/11/2006

Industry Leader in Lithium-Ion Technology Sets a Higher Performance Standard

BROOKFIELD, WI – Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation recently announced a new limited warranty for all of its V™ Technology Lithium-Ion batteries, extending coverage for up to 2,000 charge cycles or five (5) years from the date of purchase/first charge.

Milwaukee's research indicates that under tough professional use, most 18V Ni-Cad batteries last 450 cycles or less. With their 2,000 charges/5 year limited warranty providing more than three times the charge cycles from a typical Ni-Cad, Milwaukee sets a new benchmark in performance expectations for Li-Ion batteries in the power tool market.

“A lot of promises are made about the long lasting, fade-free power available over the lifetime of a Li-Ion battery, but you can only back what you can measure,” says David Selby, director of engineering and new product development for Milwaukee Electric Tool. “All of our V™ Technology products feature ‘smart battery’ diagnostics, which record the first date of use, the number of completed charge cycles and other useful information. This limited warranty allows Milwaukee dealers to provide even better support for their customers.”

Selby adds that the new warranty can more than double the original two year, 1,000 charges coverage period Milwaukee Li-Ion battery users previously enjoyed. Under the new warranty, which retroactively covers all Milwaukee V28 and V18 batteries (available in August 2006), users will receive an additional 1,000 charges or three years of warranty coverage that is pro-rated against the amount of use. If a claim is made during this extended period, the customer will be able to obtain a new battery at a discounted price based on the amount of usage beyond two years or 1,000 charges. If a battery fails during the first two years or 1,000 charges, the customer receives a replacement battery free of charge.

“As the first-to-market leader in Lithium-Ion technology for power tools, Milwaukee will continue to raise industry standards for cordless performance and reliability,” says Selby. “Professionals push our tools to the limit every day, and we’re proud to be able to back them up with such a heavy-duty warranty.”

About Milwaukee V™ Technology
Milwaukee’s exclusive integration of chemistry, cell design and circuitry, charging system and tool design have all been optimized to create V™ Technology – the superior Lithium-Ion battery solution. Milwaukee features lithium manganese chemistry, which has been field proven to be the most powerful and practical for professional power tool applications on the market today. This technology was developed by Milwaukee in partnership with a leading global battery company to produce the first heavy duty Li-Ion battery for use in high amp draw applications.

The award-winning V™ Technology platform is available in an expanding range of voltages and products for professionals seeking fade-free power, longer runtimes and equal or less weight than 18V NiCad battery powered tools. Due to a patent-pending performance-optimizing circuit, V™ Technology batteries are able to operate at peak performance under extreme conditions such as hot or cold temperatures and withstand battery heating due to heavy use. In addition, Milwaukee’s Li-Ion batteries feature a built-in fuel gauge so users always know how much run time is available without needing to place it on a charger.

I also have the v28 along with the impact, sawall, hammer drill, circular saw, flash light, and band saw, and I will say that they are the best cordless tools I have ever bought, not the cheapest, but someone on here had a connection to someone or a place that had them from a deal from what I remember.... But either way I recommend them and would buy again, and as for snap on, what can you use the battery on besides the impact? I like that I have all of the blow molded cases and 2 chargers and 3 batteries, I can go all day swapping one and using the other, but this gives me one more spare battery!!!!

Man, I really like my Ridgid Li-Ion tools, but the batteries ****! And yes, I know... the warranty... but I have to find a Ridgid service center thaht is willing to deal with this issue within 50 miles from me.

Hmm... with gas a $4.09 a gallon, that Milwaukee set doesn't seem so expensive anymore... :(

I have v28 Milwaukee and WOULD recommend all their cordless tools EXCEPT their v28 CORDLESS IMPACT. Not enough power to spin off most hand tightened lugs.

And it's awfully big.

Friends of mine have an auto repair business and they like snap on.

Maybe yours is bad, as mine took off all of the lugs on my pontiac g8 which was a 22 mm size all torqued to 125feet pounds, no problem. I haven't had anything it couldn't take off, even things I beat on with 250 feet pounds and lock tight, lock washers and Cleveloc lock nuts. Just my experience. but again I just work on my own cars or for friends, I don't have shop or do this for a living.

Just to pipe up for a sec (oh no! another amateur mechanic!), my favorite cordless large impact wrench is a corded one. The wire is not such a big deal, it's certainly less hassle than an air line, and you don't have the compressor noise to deal with. The main thing I'm looking at here is battery lifetime (well, that and initial price). It's really nice to have electric tools last for decades rather than just a few years before 60% of the device cost needs replacing.

On the other hand, I can really see the sense of small products like the Bosch PS40. I've got one of the 14.4v Milwaukee cordless impacts, but something half the size would be really cool.

22mm lugs at 125 ft/lbs on a passenger car? Wow!

You are telling me, I had to use a 120 torque stick and then get out the old snap on tqfr250e and make sure all the lugs were at 125lbs... I painted the calipers and had to take all of the wheels off... It was pita! All on a 6 liter 4 door sedan....
