To me it's simple whatever I'm working on it doesn't come off in the first 20 seconds I move to the next bigger gun!

That's how I roll. I usually only let it hammer for a second or so, you just know when it is not going to budge.

After you do certain things a few times you know when you need to pull out the big gun.

They refer to the thread size because that's what matters when you're engineering/building. If you're just replacing parts, then socket size is preferred because you're looking to sockets to remove that bolt/nut.

Oh I'm just talkin' smack... :evil:

You didn't really think the metric system was here to make things simpler, did you?

I really can't figure out why a system supposedly designed to be simpler, didn't think of standardizing head sizes on fasteners. I've gotten used to bringing the whole wrench roll, or entire socket set with me. It's just easier that way.
