Hello,
I've narrowed down my choices with a floor jack I think, but looking for any input to finalize a choice.
Car is a sub-compact Nissan weights about 1ton total. New cars will always be small around 1-1.5tons total weight, so any weight limit basically. Jack used for DIY on 1 car maybe 2 in the future. Used pretty sparingly. But I want something that is reliable.
A caveat is I'm in Canada but travel to US frequently by car, so can buy there but makes warranty annoying (Buffalo, Detroit, Vermont).
Options I'm considering below. Originally I was looking at the HF Aluminum 1.5ton for $99, but quality reports concern me. The vintage HW is a bit of a gamble and I've seen folks on this forum say they do not like theirs (unstable, heavy, not easy to use etc).
Is the HW are reasonable jack for regular DIY use? Is the Costco Torin the move based on locality and price? Or should I spring for the Menards?
Options:
1. Vintage Hein Warner for sale semi-local. Unknown model. Marketplace "selling for a friend". It looks like it's been restored (paint at least) but seller doesn't know if seals were done. Photo Below $90USD
2. Menards Masterforce - $290USD - Could pick this up next time I'm in Detroit.
3. Costco Torin $130USD (The Costco Canada Jack - only uses 1 U-Cup like the Daytona jacks, but cheap and local with Costco warranty)
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
