Which Free Makita Bare Tool

I purchased the Makita LXT211 Kit a few weeks ago, 1/2" Hammer/Drill Driver and Impact Driver, and I'm still trying to decide on which free tool to get. They are having a special through the end of this month to get a free bare tool, http://makitatools.com/en-us/Modules/Promotions/LXTBareTools2012/

I obviously don't need another Hammer/Drill driver or Impact Driver (or do I???), and I have a corded version of the other options (4-1/2" angle grinder, circular saw, recip saw and multi-tool).

Right now I'm leaning towards the circular saw, because that is the tool I use the most after my drill/drivers. I'm also thinking a cordless recip would be nice too.

Please give me your input....

Which tool are you talking about, circular saw? Do you have a 18V Lithium-Ion recep saw? If so, how much time do you get out of it?

I got in on that rebate but I ordered the multitool set. I every one of the bare tools on that list. But one I would not go with out is the circular saw. The saws-all manly sees use at cutting pvc as I dont do much demo work. For my rebate I chose the grinder as I have to cut a piece of stainless or other odd bit once a week at work. So it will server that purpose.

I do have the recip saw. Couple hours of working and needing to reach for it pretty frequently. How long it lasts is hard to say. Longer than the 18v ryobi circ saw that was a total POS

You really have to look at your usual tasks. A cordless recip saw or grinder is nice to have for quick cuts or if there is no power available.

A second drill or impact is nice when you are working on a project that requires you to swap bits frequently. Saves a lot of time not having to go back and forth changing bits and looking for the bit you just put down. I thought my friend was nuts having several cordless drills out with various bits installed. But his workflow is streamlined and gets done quickly.

I'd get the circular saw. It's great for quick cuts and very light for those times when you're stretching out over a plywood sheet or making overhead cuts.

I use the recip saw for pruning trees or cutting up fallen branches after a storm. In some cases they are large enough that the tool must go to branch and not the other way around, so cordless is king to a point, then a chainsaw is king! (don't have one of those). The battery will run it for about 5 mins under load, however, you do not want to do that continuously or you'll kill you battery (stop when it gets warm, and switch to another battery to let the first one cool).

I just had the same choice for my brothers wedding present, got him the same kit and was debating on which free tool to get him. Went with the circular because I have the recip and circ saw already. I am much more impressed with the circular saw mainly because you can do a decent amount of cutting with it off of one charge. Unless you have a good use for a cordless recip saw you cant beat the power of a corded one. The circular saw on the other hand can handle quite a few tasks just as well as its corded counterpart.
