This is like the ppl with 30 year old fridge in the garage costing $300 a month to operate .

I've got a 63 year old 100% original bottle vending Coke machine in the garage still running 24-7. It probably costs more to run it than the sodas and beer that I keep it stocked with... but I like it.

Not owned, but when I saw this old goat on a roof back in 2015 I told the customer it was time for a new one. Late 60's era American Standard, the one with the black and white plug-in relays. (These were notorious for getting ants inside and gumming up the contacts as they weren't sealed, but could be disassembled and cleaned if done carefully). Surprisingly good shape for something so old, but the heat exchanger was not trustworthy.

Dang, I thought I was doing good having a 2001 trane unit. I did have to replace the control board (XR80), but I think thats all its had done.

1991 Payne. Just replaced the run/start cap. A couple years ago, we had to seal a leak in the line set, replace the fan motor and contractor. It runs well but starting to consider if it may be getting close to time to replace the next year or so. I live where summer highs are 90-110 degrees and don’t want to have to replace it last minute in the middle of summer.
