Which heater to use

Hello everybody.
I have lurked hear for some time now and loved all the info I have been getting for my current garage. 20x 24 with a wood stove.
Question is.
I have bought a new to me home with a double garage with 400 sq feet walled and insulated at the back.
It currently has a mister heater hanging unit in it.
I can get a 65,000 btu carrier forced air furnace that has barely been used for $120.00 from a friend.
I also have access to a free wall furnace/ heater that is pretty old but looks good.
Everything is propane fired and I would like to keep it at around 50 degree Fahrenheit when I’m not in it.
What is the best system to go with ?
Do people use hanging unit heaters for safety because the gas fumes stay on the ground?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Edit ... I’m located in southern Ontario. Probably the same weather as Buffalo NY for my American Friends.

I would go with the hanger, it will not take up your floor space either.

If you want to maximize your floor space, then a hanging heater is a good idea and you can angle the heater fins downward. On the other hand, if you aren't concerned about floor space, having a heater down by the floor would be a nicer idea. The heat will rise anyway so having the heat source closer to the floor works out well.

A 65kbtu furnaces is about 3-4X larger than that space would require IF it is decently built/insulated. An old wall furnace will likely be in the 60% efficient range, hot to the touch and noisy. I would suggest a Rinnai EX22C-LP for your place. Simple install, vent is included in the box. Programable stat is built in.

Is this garage connected to your house? If so do it legaly because it will be a pain sleeping in the shed if your house catches fire.

With that being said i have a half asd insulated 24x24 with a 50k unit heater. I live just south of albany. I kept my garage at 35-40* and burned about 200lbs of propane. When working in it i heat with wood.
