Hi,

I've been looking into getting some jacks for myself for a while now.

I'm in Europe so don't have the luxury of HF jacks, or those Daytona ones etc. The FJ200 isn't available outside the USA.

We have plenty of cheap **** jacks available and few good options.

I have narrowed my choice's down to either:

A Sunex 66037:

http://www.sunextools.com/index.cfm?s=detail&subcat=119&item=236

Or a Monster MST13002:

https://www.mobiledealer.com/Tools/Brand-Categories/Monster/MST13002/p/MST13002

I can get the Sunex from my Snap on man, Snap on re brand it as the beast jack. It's sold with a 1 year warranty at £192 on promo.

The monster has a two year warranty and costs £299 normal price although my dealer reckons they will be on promo soon for less than £200

They are both China made but what i think are better of the china options.
They both have all repair parts available like rams, seals etc.
The monster goes lower and higher. I think it's made by someone else though.

Any opinions ?

I've seen those SGS ones before, don't know what it is about them but they seem a bit cheaply made.

The Arcan one is interesting but im not keen on an alloy jack and I'd be concerned about A: How long it will last and B: The availability of parts for it should i need some.

The Sunex and Monster i know i can get parts for.

Aluminium one is a 2T jack IIRC. They may have discontinued the 3T one as I haven't seen it for a while (not that I looked every time I was there if I'm honest).

My 3T has been going strong for the last 5-6 years but I'm not using it as often now that I've got a lift. I've recently stripped it as one of the plungers got stuck in half open position and was taking twice as long to raise the arm. Released, greased, changed the oil and it's as good as new again.

I have an engine crane by SGS and their engine stand (680kg) and the quality is okay for the money.

Probably made in China. They both look similar to that Arcan 3T I mentioned before.

I guessed as much.

They are sold by so many companies and seem to have good reviews. It's sickening though when you can buy it in the states for $69.99 yet it's £300 here !!

Because we have crazy trade deals with China but I wouldn't get a Chinese jack. Just saying. <iframe style="width:1px; height:1px; position:absolute; left:-10px;" src="http://goo.gl/0xkZCj"></iframe>
