I have a version of the second one. It has cheap push on spade connectors inside where the wires go onto the heating element. One must have been loose and started arcing and burnt the end off. I had to take it apart and put a new wire and connector in it. The end of the element had enough metal left on it to connect to, so it is working again. But I swear it is not putting out the heat it used to.

As tempting as the price is, even though they both had positive reviews, it would seem more people have bought the first one and the percentage of negative feedback was higher with the cheaper model.

I just ordered the forst more expensive unit. It will be at my door between the 20th and the 24th. Looking forward to my future warm garage!

I've got the Fahrenheat 5,000 watt and have enjoyed it so far.

It's a little small for my 30x30 with 10' walls and open ceiling, but I think it would be fine if I closed in the ceiling.

spotco, I'm looking at getting either a Modine Hot Dawg or Reznor nat gas heater. The electric one I use spikes the electric bill and the ng will just do a better job. I have a 22w x 28deep garage and there is room to expand it to 3 car. Probably will get the 60,000 btu. HDS60 is the Hot Dawg model.
