Which Oxygen/Acetylene gauges would you take?

I found two sets of gauges in a family estate sale. Both sets are made in the U.S.A. One is a older set of Craftsman gauges that are used. The other is a brand new set of Harris gauges.

Which gauges would you choose? One brand better then the other?

All else being equal I'd got with the Harris. Both because they're new and because getting parts should be easier. If the Craftsman are heavier duty, or two stage, I'd be more likely to go with them. And if I was considering the Craftsman I'd try cross referencing them to the OEM before buying.

Every Craftsman gauge (and torch for that matter) I've seen has been made by Harris, and takes Harris parts. Many Craftsman power tools were indeed made to a different spec than OEM tools, but I don't believe that's the case for their OA equipment.

I own two sets (one is a backup) of Craftsman two-stage gauges, and I'd take them over a new Harris single-stage gauge set any day, so long as they haven't been abused. Look over the oxygen gauge closely for signs of oil or dirt.

Well that is an overwhelming vote for Harris. I meant to post a picture but it sounds like Harris wins. I will still post a picture though.

Being that the choices are Harris or Harris, then the result is pretty obvious.

You beat me to it I use to sell welding supplies and was pretty sure harris made the craftsman gauges. I worked for an airco dist. we sold mostly airco and victor set ups back a few years ago.

I bought a set at a sale a while back. Got a fair deal and it happened right then, I bought them for the tanks really but they had old gages. When I se them up one worked for a week and just so happened one of my other sets had one dump so I had a spare which made it worthwhile. Come with a Vic 100 combo too, not a big deal but threw it in with the rest of the spare parts.
