Which pressure washer?

So I'm looking at some Simpson washers and have narrowed it down to two.

What I really need is a realistic choice between a Honda GC vs GX motor and an Axial Cam pump or a Triplex pump.

Obviously I'd love to do the GX with a triplex pump but is it really necessary over the slightly cheaper GC/Axial cam alternative?

I'll be using it primarily at home. But will likely share it out between the in-laws. 2 sisters/husbands and mother/father. So three households will be the norm...

If you are paying for the Honda name get a gx, as that's why they are so well loved with small engines. Then if I was paying for a new engine I"d want a pump that would last as well.

Most importantly, if you're loaning out a good machine, make sure other users know how to take care of it, prime pump, don"t let it sit running for long periods, check oil, etc.

Thank you for the help, it looked as if the GC would have worked with a good pump but it seems your advice is solid. I'm doing the Simpson with the larger GX200 and a AAA triplex pump. Amazon has them for 529.00 and a $50 coupon. I've been researching washers till my wife was blue in the face...

Northern Tools North Star washers look amazing as well as they have better(?) Comet, CAT, and AR pumps, but are paired with a smaller GX160 and are $700 for the one I'd like. They do however come with a longer 50' hose out of the gate and a very nice wand.

I should get many years with the Simpson, and if/when the pump ever gives out, I'll have the larger 200 motor to slap a bigger pump on. A longer 50' hose is $60 bucks, and wands are cheap enough.

As for loaning it, I'd rather do the work for them for $50 plus beer. My family are NOT tool savvy. And a neighbor...same.

Go with the Triplex pump or plan on replacing the axial due to their short life cycle.

Defenently did do that. I believe with the GX200, I have a good foundation for whatever pump I'll end up with down the line. The AAA pump seems robust enough for several years with proper maintenance.

It arrives on Saturday! Play day! Going to power wash the hell out of everything!
