Which product for my shop floor

So...I did my attached garage floor last spring with Racedeck...thanks for the input.

This spring I want to tackle my shop floor. 30 x 50, pics of staining to follow. It's 12 years old, never sealed, heavy use in areas. I just want a nice clear finish ... nothing fancy.

I'm guessing I'll need to sand/grind and no clue what product to buy. Also, I have so much stuff can I split the job in half, put everything on one side then reverse to complete each section of floor? Would it match?

Thanks!

Degrease, grind and apply a coat of our best-in-class 100% solids BondTite 1101 primer followed by two coats of our EnduraShield 2254 hybrid-urethane clear coat. There shouldn't be any problem with matching.

Is the primer clear?
Yes, for the most part, it has a slight amber tint to it when cured. Tough as nails though... This shows the BondTite 1101 and IntegraFlex 1921 flexible joint filler prior to body coat application.

Take a look at either our Armorpoxy II or ArmorUltra Job on Pallet Kit.

A less expensive alternative is a single coat of our SPGX one part Polyurea. Outstanding performance at a great value.

Will definitely check that ... do the instructions indicate how much grinding I need to do and what kind of blade. We have a Home Depot I can rent one there.

Normally a light grind it’s a #80 or #120 blade is fine, no need to overdo it. HD may or may not have these to rent, better off at a Sunbelt or United Rentals for floor grinders. #80 may leave swirl marks so if doing a clear you should grind smoother. A tinted epoxy would cover swirl marks better from grinding.

My experience with epoxy is limited to my basement utility area, but as with any product they are pros and cons. Grinding is hard dusty work even with dust control. Protect yourself with respirator for toxic dust. You may find you need a handheld grinder to get the edges, Home Depot does rent that with diamond wheel. My concern for a working shop would be the slipperiness when wet. I added texture to mine just for that reason. I personally think epoxy is more for looks then overall performance in a shop area. There are plenty of professionals here that could give you a better idea of what other options are available.

Regarding slipperiness of epoxy floors, we include in every kit we sell a non-skid additive.
