Stant. You can get a “universal” type adapter to go with it.

Astro Pnuematic’s 27 pc kit is also supposed to be good. ATD and other brands have a kit that looks identical on the photos but shown closer the cheaper kits are cheaply built. It does have a ton of adapters with it

I just got this kit. Just for my cars. I would not buy this if I was in the business. While it works fine the seal does not hold if you lay the gauge down and put pressure on it. It does pump up fine and holds pressure if you are careful

Stant, the old reliable. Buy the adaptors you need or get the kit.

Almost ALL othe the "name brand" ones are actually Stant. Make sure to get the newer model that goes up to 39 psi. Newer system use higher pressure.

The Mac and Snap-on coolant testers come with 3 or 4 adapters and have a rubber boot over the gauge. The Mac ones are on promo once in a while.

I have a newer Stant that works better than the older Snap-on I had previusly.. Only comes with 1 adapter with is fine for most farm and truck stuff. Bought the GM pickup adapter. Good made in USA quality.

Stant, also sold as Gates and probably other brands. Parts are available, been around forever and they have a big range of adapters.

Not to steal this thread But, how about the cooling system evacuate/fill. Do those also test for leaks? And if so than one can just purchase that to do both testing and filling. Thoughts??

I would think not every leak would show up with both vacuum and pressure. I'm sure it's would find most.

Be careful if you're considering the Harbor Freight kit. First, the quality actually is pretty good. Second, there's a crummy selection of cap adapters. Like there's no specific adapter for the very common type found on most older US cars. They include a crappy universal type adapter which grips the fill neck with a funky adjustable claw thing that works poorly. I suspect the HF kit was not originally intended for the US market.

It's also way overpriced for what you get in the kit. I see other kits on ebay which look like they have the identical pump and alot more specific adapters for the same price. This is just from judging from the pictures, I don't have any direct experience with these kits.

The newest stant on amazon goes to 30 PSI. Couldn't find one tester on amazon that goes to 39 PSI. What car has a system that goes 39 PSI?
