Which sealer?

I am having my garage floor leveled to correct some settling issues I have. It is 40 years old and has pitting and cracks. I want to apply a sealer to it before I put down interlocking floor tiles ( still looking for the right tiles). I want to keep any additional moisture from soaking into the old concrete.

While I am asking, I have read about putting landscape fabric down before the floor tiles. Is this just for certain floor types or manufactures or does it apply as a general rule?

A siliconate sealer would work real well for your situation. This article explains more.

Landscape fabric is not a prerequisite. If you are installing a free flowing type of tile, then they make no noise at all. If it's a solid top, they can make a hollow sound when walking on them, but that is all. If you are worried about the floor being completely silent with a solid top, then landscape fabric will help.

I sealer / densifier option is a really good idea.

Landscape fabric is not a prerequisite, but if you are doing a solid tile it makes a HUGE difference. For me it is the difference between loving my floor and LOVING my floor.
