Ok guys, My uncle asked me what I want for Christmas as he drew my name this year. We have a $40 limit which rules out most of the things on my want list. I've been meaning to get a security bit set but really won't use them more than a couple times a year. I've been looking at these 2:

32 Piece Klein: http://www.mcmelectronics.com/produ...&cagpspn=pla&gclid=CPTTwO6HkbMCFQqe4Aodi0UArw

or

148 Piece Titan: http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/22-15275&scode=GS401&CAWELAID=1247115577?catargetid=1545764029&cagpspn=pla&gclid=CMLY5M2IkbMCFROe4AodhG0AJg

The Titan is obviously a much bigger set, but many of the bits are phillips and Torx that I already have. What do you guys think? The Klein sticks out to me but as I said, I'll use it next to never.

I'm a huge fan of this one from Wiha, quality is top notch (at least in my opinion) and I like the case, very compact and stores easily. Works great unless you really need more variety than what it offers. Not cheap from Amazon but you can probably find it cheaper elsewhere, so I thought I'd throw it out there.

I know, but I thought you might find it cheaper somewhere, like I said. I bought it some time ago and I think it closer to your limit at that time. That and Amazon tends to not be remotely competitively priced on things like this, so I'm sure it is cheaper somewhere out there. How much so, I'm not sure. If I spot it somewhere, I'll post it up.

$60 "ish" was as cheap as I found with Google shopping :( I checked ebay too. All the ones I saw were Buy it now for the same price. Ebay is more like a store than an auction site anymore

looking at a couple of these sets....doesn't look like they have the 5 star security bits... they have the 6 star...but no 5 star...

When I was working on my Bobcat I had to have a 5 star to remove the timing belt cover. Nobody carried one on the shelf...ended up ordering it from OReillys...in stock in the whse...so just over night.

***** that "they" all have to be different....

I haven't broken one of the HF yet, but the Titan might be a step up. The best part of the HF set beside it being like $8 so breaking a bit means nothing, is that its a complete set, as in bring the plastic case and chances are close to 100% the bit you need is in the kit.

Is it like one of those "Pentalobe" screws Apple started using on iPhones, etc. ?

Conductor562,

Here is an article about the Torx-Plus security (5 star Torx): http://www.instructables.com/id/Whe...lus-So-Much-Mor/step70/Torx-Plusreg-Security/.

I am ashamed to admit it, but I have the HF set in my sound toolbag. It only gets used a few times a year, so I hide it otherwise...LOL
