+1 would like some ideas. I've had my Wave for a few years now, absolutely ZERO issues with it, and I use it daily at work. You'll love it!

Many other options on the site too if this one does not fit your needs.

Probably "niteize" sells something (whatever that retail brand is)...they make good stuff in my opinion. Otherwise...at retail you could use awp (is that the lowe's brand), husky, clc, or whatever's floating around. Your best bet is to pick up something from ebay even if it's cross branded...I usually keep my leatherman pliers out in a gerber sheath. They have some tiered sheaths that could fit this stuff. Don't know why they'd sell it without one for the asking price...should come with a nice leather sheaths like the old leathermans; penny pinchers.

i may change my mind on this one.. i also got the detachable belt clip, and i gotta say i really like just carrying the wave in my pocket using the clip.. it rides so low in the corner of my pocket i dont even know its there.. i usually carry a knife with me no matter where i go, but mainly for work. i wanted to try and carry the wave instead - just to give me "more" for the same room i was giving up. so far im really liking it.. it kinda the same size as the milwaukee fastback knives i carry, the weight is a non issue, and believe it or not, the blade lenght is almost identical between the two. so its not like you giving anything up going with the multi tool over just a pocket knife. i just wish the clip on the wave had a little bit more of bump on the clip, to make it easier to push it out of my pocket with my finger. guess itll just take some gettin use to..
im suprised at how simple of a "transition" its been from going from the knife to this so far.. usually the dumbest things bother me, and so far - nothing to complain about.. im glad i went with the wave over the larger surge.. MAYBE ill just keep the wave in my pocket and try carring the bits in the sheath that came with it.. ill see how that goes..

I pocket carry a Leatherman Charge TTI and won't look back. I used to carry a Gerber multitool + a fastback for quick blade access. I then switched to a Gerber "Crucial" tool to replace both, and then settled on the Charge as a replacement for all of the above. Size/weight/convenience all seem to be best with the Charge and I like not having the holster on my hip anymore.

I have a charge TTi, pretty much the same as a wave. I have the bit kits and extension. I actually have a separate pouch for the bit kit and extension. I tried fitting it all in one pouch, but it was too fat to be carried comfortably. I've looked at the skinth stuff, looks really good and comes highly recommended.

Question for the surge owner above: Did your surge come with what looks like a jigsaw blade pouch? I'm wanting a Surge, the newer one with the removable cutters. I hear they also take standard jigsaw blades now, so that would be a killer mini EDC toolkit with a bit kit, jig saw blades, and the multi-tool.

i didnt carry it on me, but have a gerber diesel i kept in an edc bag and i hate to admit it, but the wave it just so much nicer.. definitely worth the money.. i just bought 5 gerber crucials from HD for christmas gifts also.. they were nice to have for the $15 - and at least now my family has something to keep in their cars..

if i could make changes to the wave to make it "what i think" would be a better multi tool for the average everyday person - i would get rid of the quick deploy saw, and replace it with a bigger set of scissors that you'd be able to get at more easily.. then, id remove the small scissors in the handle and replace them with a decent set of removeable tweezers. everything else, i like as is.. provided that can opener will open bottles.. (who really needs a can opener) i think the primary tools for MOST people are, knife, scissors, pliers - in that order..

You'd like the leatherman juice s2. Nice big scissors, external accessible knife, and pliers. Got other stuff too, but it's the best general edc multitool I've seen. I have the bit kit for that too
