I have decision anxiety over which set i should buy. :dunno:
I know that it´s all personal preferences but do you guys have any suggestions?
Is there any brand that has any advantage over the others? Or are they pretty much same quality?
6-point or 12-point? Thats the second decision.....sigh...

Thanks for your inputs!

Dont buy a set, but some of the brands mentioned, then you can directly compare. ;)

Everything else is just subjective recommendations, but I prefer sockets from Hazet…why ?...i love Hazet sockets..nothing more, nothing less. :D

I think you need Monte to answer this question. All three have a great reputation. The anxiety makes little sense, with any of the three you chose-YOU WIN! And you end up with a very high quality product, that should last beyond your lifetime.

Post a pic when you can!

Gedore for a basic set. Very compact and metal case.
Hazet if I wanted a more comprehensive set.
Don't like the look of stahlwille sockets.
Quality wise, they are all equel to me.

I would guess Monte would probably favour the Hazet, but in all honesty, and I'm sure
Monte would agree with me.... particularly with sockets, any good quality manufacturer
will make superb, strong and long lasting tools.

Judging them on quality will just make your teeth itch... The only way to make a buying
decision like this one would be on other factors.

1. Which brand do you have a preference for
2. Which brand do you like the look of the best
3. Which brand can you get the best deal on
4. Which brand offers a set that best suits your needs
5. which brand is the easiest to obtain if you want other tools or individual sockets

Just write your answer next to all of the questions and see which name
pops up the most... and rest assured knowing which ever brand it is
they will be awesome... :D Oh... and by the way, my answer would be Facom...

Good test:

1. Stahlwille
2. Stahlwille
3. Stahlwille (www.werkzeuggigant.com have really good prices, have anyone bought anything from them? Are they good?)
4. All 3 of them
5. Gedore and Stahlwille.

Hmmmm i´ll wait until Montes Word has been spoken.
But maybe i see a winner here :headscrat

Thank you guys for soo fast inputs and wise ideas

I've had a few Hazet pieces come across my bench, and I did like their quality. Still use their 1/4" sliding T-handle and 6" 1/4 extension. Solid tools.

Well everything is said I think :D

or not ? :D I do like the Hazet sockets very much because of the knurling which really works, I also like the look of the polished/mat finish. I do like the Hazet blue metal socket cases with the plastic logo. But I also especially like this Gedore socket set because the case is made completely out of metal, even the insert ! So not only the tools last 100 years but the case too....and the Gedore ratchets are nice..... I do like Stahlwille because of the exotic finish on their ratchets/wrenches and the no fuss design which is around for like 50 years and that they produce like 90% of the tools they sell on their own unlike other companies whose offering looks like in a supermarket....
So... more subjective opinions for you :) Happy shopping :D

or, like me, buy all three: Stahlwille in 1/4", Gedore in 3/8" and Hazet 900 in 1/2"...

that or go japanese: Ko-ken(good prices from Mattes-Werkzeuge) :rocker:

or even Top from Rakuten: *clicky!* :D

get what works and feels better to you, there won't be a "bad apple in your cart" with those three, and, don't hesitate to mix'n match brands as needed! :)

They are all good choices! I would choose the Stahlwille or the Hazet, but it's hard to decide between the two! I have some Stahlwille and some Hazet and both are excellent quality and really durable! The Stahlwille are satin finished and I like the 'flowing' shape of the tools, the Hazet are part matt / part polished finish, but I like that too! Both are really good to use! Both are very tough!

The Gedore I own has a completely matt finish. While some may prefer it, I don't think it's as good as the Stahlwille or the Hazet. I bought some Gedore 1/4 inch drive a few years ago. It didn't fit together that well, and all felt a bit flimsy! Put it side by side with Snap On and there was no comparison, the Snap On was of a much higher standard! I don't think you could say that if you compared to Stahlwille or Hazet!

I have seen the larger Gedore tools and they look much nicer, in fact I have recently seen one of their 1/2 inch drive sets and it looked really nice, so apart from the 1/4 drive I would be happy with any! Buy the one you think you will enjoy using the most!

I have some of both. I prefer the look of the Stahlwille, but I prefer the knurling on the Hazet. This is a feature I actually use, so I have much more of the Hazet sockets.
