Which Sprinkler Pump ?

I have a large pond that is fed by mountain run off, and I would like to use some of the water to run a sprinkler to water the grass ect.

Has anyone done anything similar ? Is there a certain type of pump that works well for this application, or one I should try to avoid ?

I'm only lookining to run a single sprinkler off a 50-75 foot garden hose to water about 1/4 - 1/2 acre.

At my house in So. FL, I have a 1.5hp "shallow well" pump that I picked up from the local irrigation supply shop. My water table is 5'-10' below the pump, so it doesn't require much lift. It easily runs 6 K-Rain K8000 rotor sprinklers simultaneously to water a 100'x100' patch of yard behind my house. The suction side is 2", output is 1-1/2". Runs on 220V, but can be wired for 110v operation.
