Vise, two pieces of square stock the same thickness as the length of the crimp, crimp one, rotate and repeat.

Most likely a die is used in a hydraulic press to form the crimp.

This is what I'd expect to be the case as well.

As another member mentioned, a couple of pieces of bar stock and a large vise should do for a one-off (done this myself for something similar).

They do made 4 sided square hand crimpers but it would not exert enough pressure by hand to crimp that style of steel ferule.

I would use a press with the square stock,it is hard on the vise jaws to squeeze the steel ferules enough.

I would guess Mcmaster -Carr would have these---I think these are considered stop sleeves vs. the compression sleeves used on the loops on wire rope.

Maybe use a washer in conjunction with a stop sleeve to get enough diameter to mate with the levers. Can the cable/stop extend past the point where it engages the lever?
