I plan on ordering a toolbox from strictly toolboxes in the next week or so and I an trying to decide between the 56" Exteme top and bottom EX5621 and the 72" Montezuma bottom MTZ7224TC as both are about the same price. I am torn right now. I would like the 56 combo because of more drawers but then see the 72 at the same price and I can add a top in the future. Any opinions?

I'd opt for the deeper drawers too. The box I have has shorter ones and there are shortfalls, pun intended, for tool storage.

If you get the 72 inch Montezuma, I'd definitely get that orange color. If you do post lots of big pics...

My Emails with Shannon say:

1) No Top Box available or planned for the 72" x 24" special STB.com box (mfg by Montezuma but not in their regular line up.

2) I so was hoping that extra shallow drawers could be ordered for the 72" x 24" but
Thats NOT the Case (NOT available)

3) I am still waiting for extra (available to be sold to replace deeper drawer) shallow (orange) drawers to become available for the the Orange 72" x 30" Elite or Classic (same drawer)

The 7224 is an item made by Montezuma exclusively for www.strictlytoolboxes.com

This box is not a limited item but a permanent part of our lineup. I will have 55" wide 24" deep sets available in this same quality from Montezuma around 5-10 I will have these in Orange, Blue and Black for $1825 delivered.

Just figure out if you need that top work surface or not. I like to be able to lay my tools on top the box as I'm working on something, and them put them all back in the drawers after I'm done working.

Shannon, WE are all waiting too SEE the drawer configurations of your newest 55'" x 24" model...........

I understand you wont be offering extra (shallow) drawers (for a customer to buy and swap around on their own). It would have be so nice to be able to configure these new 24" Deep Models with a drawer pattern of our choosing.

Having said that I'm sure you'll sell everyone that you have, in short order........

I am still torn here. I guess I could always get a 56" top for it sometime. I really like the 56" combo but a toolbox is like a shop it can never be big enough and the 72 gives me some room to expand.

Hey Shannon will you have a top 55" top for the new bottoms you have coming out that I maybe could put on top someday when I want to expand? Thanks for all the input.

That is sweet Diesel, but a little much. I probably won't get orange. I wish there was a red one but will probably settle on black.

You should consider the orange, really..

Then again, I'm biased, my KRL1023 is Electric Orange with a stainless top, I love it. It always got lots of looks and compliments when I was wrenching for a living. When I started working at the marina, the first day our SO dealer came in, she immediately spotted the bright orange beast and started tracking me down.

So far, only Matco offers that option ... for BIG $$$. :D

We offer custom drawer configurations the Montezuma Elite 72" for a reasonable fee. We should have the software done so that you can configure the box yourself online within a week or two.

Currently you need to call in and we email you a rendering of what the final version of the box will look like for approval before we ship the box.

We have sold a few of these to GJ members. Those boxes should be delivering within the next few days. Hopefully the new owners will post some pictures.

Hey Global there wouldn't be a problem putting a 56" top onthis box would there? Or would it be to much weight on the wheels.

Anybody got some pictures or has anybody put a smaller top on a bigger bottom?

The 55x24 top chest would work fine.

The box is designed to the exact same specs as the Montezuma Classic 15 drawer it is just 24 inches deep rather than 30. It will easily be able to support the weight of the top chest.

Is there a discount for GJ members? I know they are on sale already but I thought I would ask.

The $1825 is GJ pricing They will go on the site at over $1900. I will post a GJ coupon on this thread after my IT guy creates it. I should have it up by mid week.

Shannon, As youve written to me before, is the custom drawer program only available in Black and Blue. I was hoping to own a custom "MONTE" Orange cabinet to replace my Orange KRL1022.

I'm hoping that as more time passes your sales of Orange and Extreme Green, will prompt you to make those colors available to your custom drawer/order buyers!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info. I am probably going to order the 56" combo this week. Do you know what price of the 55" combo you are coming out with is going to cost? If it is close to the 56 combo I may hold offf to get the deeper drawers.

Does drawer #9 have a drawer handle? I don't see one.

All of the drawers have the same design as Montezuma's standard line. It has an aluminum wrap around drawer pull. Drawer 9 has 2 sets of drawer slides and a 500lbs drawer capacity.
