I considered the Torque Master but I just picked up the Tekton one, here in the US I was able to find it for $35, too bad you can't get that price in India.

Thanks for the responses, you guys are great! Bczygan I want only 1/2" one, and HF is not available here.

Yes Moparman, I have to pay twice for Tekton here due to import and shipping costs, that is why I was wondering if I should buy the Torque-Master. The two wrenches look quite different and I know Tekton is better quality. Has anyone tried Torque-Master?

Since Torque-Master is Made in India, have you asked anyone there locally regarding that brand? I'd pick the Tekton but I'm biased as I haven't had any experience with Torque-master and have a 3/8 inch version of the Tekton. Good luck in your search.

I'm not sure about that India torque wrench but from this side of the ocean I haven't seen an India hand tool I'd buy because of the poor fit, finish, etc...but I would not hesitate to buy the Tekton because of the excellent fit, finish, etc.

I would get the Tekton. I have that model. Fit and finish is great. I've only used it once to torque a couple of wheels.

So Tekton it is! I will go ahead and order it. Thanks for making it easy to decide.

Actually, beside the fit and finish, the important thing is how accurately the wrench is calibrated, and whether it will hold the calibration over the long run. I think Tekton fits the bill on both these counts. I haven't heard anything yet about Torque-Master (and a dozen other similar Indian brands) so their quality is very much open to doubt.

What purpose you want to buy the torque wrench for? I have seen torque master wrench in oil field use, and they are very heavy built. It may not be equivalent to snap on or tohnichi or norbar ( you can get all of these in India, if you desire).
There is toptul as well, as this brand gets more dealerships/resellers/stockists across India.
Can you get tekton calibrated again? And amazon global sales says no warranty for product.

Well anurag, I think it is better to trust a well known brand such as Tekton, which is proven in terms of quality rather than take my chances with an unknown Indian brand. Regarding Tonichi etc., I don't know where to buy them, and they are also imported products (maybe priced much higher than Tekton) so there is not going to be any warranty on them either.

Based on the spec, the Torque Master has better accuracy. Torque Master is an unknown brand at least in the US. Maybe it is a well known brand in India. If not, I would go with the more trusted brand.
