Is there any advantage to running a 2hp DC on 120 vs 240?

I'm running a new circuit for the stationary location of the DC so is there any performance advantage to either voltage? It will be an isolated circuit so this is the only thing on it.

Plus, with 240, you will be loading 1 leg of 120 (110) 1/2 as much, so reserving more power for whatever 110 equipment will be running concurrently.

240 IT IS! This thing only pulls 8 amps so #14 wire it is on a 15 amp breaker. Saves me some money!
Is it even legal to run 14 for anything but a dedicated lighting circuit?. Just for possible future use I would run #12 with 20 amp breakers. Remember, it has to be a linked double breaker for 240.

Always run the higher voltage when you can.
Less voltage drop, cooler running motors.
Better starting torque.
Less light flickering.
