Which Way For Z Purlins

Hello everyone! I have been lurking and searching for some time and now I need a question answered. I am putting up a 30 x 48 Strat O Span building. I would like to know which way is correct for the wall purlins or does it matter?

Bottom example. With the edge down is how I did mine.

We always install them with the outside down.

That is the way the plans are drawn. I was told by a company rep one time that it was that way to discourage people from using them as shelves or to support other loads.
