Which Wilton casting is older?

I have two early #3 vises without date stamps. The castings are different so I am assuming they are from an earlier and later run. Is casting #1 or #2 the earlier version?

I believe #2 is the older vise. I'm going by the sideways hooks at either end of the cast wording.
