anyone have opinions about impact swivel socket?

my preference is mac tool impact swivel socket because it are new design to make square instead pin style. but price for mac tools impact siwvel socket are little more price than snap on's... i own 12mm to 19mm mac tool impact swivel shallow sockets for 5 years and had no problems expect 15mm was pop out itself after i used it alomst every minute. but i do own snap on semi deep impact swivel socket (10, 13, 15, 18). once i used it on 15mm semi deep socket and it is very rough swivel so i had it replaced( snap on guy warrantied). i had never break the socket in half expect broke the pin style (mac tool 's 1/4dr 13mm 12pt impact swivel socket) oops...

i do own two impact swivel socket (adapter swivel socket(1/2 to 3/8 and it is new tool from matco tool and 10mm shallow swivel) both got in rough swivel (10mm was rough but it get in smooth after lot of use) but for reduce adater swivel socket had to be replaced (warranty by matco tool guy) because inside of swivel have metal damaged... :wtf:

tell us what you prefer to have swivel style?

Snap On's have a thinner wall to them then SK and Matco do, and if I am buying swivel sockets, access is definetly an issue. According to a test by Snap on, Snap Ons new style of swivel socket help up to constant impacting longer than the new style Matco dod.

yeah, i was noticed that snap on made "new" design on swivel socket (but still stay on pin style) i did bought 1/2dr semi deep 21mm swivel socket (it was design for GM caster or chamber aligment for big GM VAN... but i still need it to do replace upper control arm on chrysler vehicles.... so i bought it few months ago and love it. it seem stronger than old design but it is still good...

I have a Snap On set but I got it off the truck around 25 years ago. Don't know what Mac or Snap On sets are like now but I have never had a problem with my Snap On set.

I have 2 sets (almost 2 full sets) of shallow impact sockets mostly Snap On with a couple of Mac pieces I found off eBay.

To be honest I think the Mac are built better than the Snap On ones

The breakages I have seen have all been at the pin/swivel junction. I don't think the socket has much to do with it.

My 2¢.
