Started leaking water. Schedule appointment with plumber via home warranty plan, over a week out.

Dispatcher had me looking for a name that it doesn't say anywhere on this machine so she could know what type it was. Whirlpool product lines I imagine, forgot the terms.

Anyway, she said they don't work on units with a certain type of motor. I forgot the term she used. No other info on the machine so now we have to wait for them to get here to see if they'll even work on it. Can any appliance guys chime in on whether this machine would have a motor type some repair companies wouldn't work on?

We've had plumbers through the same home warranty plan fix hoses inside said machine before and nothing about motor type was ever brought up.

Meant to put this in free parking

Question...
Can you operate a screwdriver/nutdriver?

Or better yet have an electric driver with a consumable kit of tirx, philips, 1/4" driver...etc?

If you do then you are all set.

Take cover off...EASY...

Start a cycle.....easy

Watch for leak....easy...

Replace leaking part...

Reassemble.....

Enjoy more trouble free years of clothes washing...

P.s

I've fixed many o' washer and dryers over the years

It's not a daunting task

And one more thing . Keep track of the little screws as they are small and like to roll away and fall in cracks abd crevices around the flooring

Good luck

I'm no washing machine expert, but it sounds like the home warranty company has determined that "certain type of motor" is too expensive to buy and allow them to make their profit margin.

Owner needs to get on it.
