Howdy Ya'll!!

I recently made the plunge into home ownership. I have purchased 9.32 acres with a 1920's farm house and several outbuildings a little north of Seattle. I run my own business and my 2200 sqft shop I rent is coming up for sale and it just didn't make sense to move forward in that place for several reasons.

1) I am already at capacity there
2) no outside parking
3) no plumbing
4) on a hill

So I began the hunt for a suitable property that I can afford and I found this place, which I am calling Whiskey Ridge Farm! It has 2 out buildings and a unfinished basement. Which will be perfect for what I do. Future plans call for a large shop to be built. But I'll need to recover a little before I start that project

Currently plans call for lighting in the shop and basement. Set up of all my current shop equipment and shelving. Get power to the small garage. A gravel parking pad and a container or 2 for extra storage plus the Restoration of outbuildings and the house, along with any upgrades I come up with along the way.

Welcome! Looks like you got yourself a beautiful property, with tons of potential. Keep us all posted on your progress!

Thanks! I think it's pretty swell. I will keep everyone posted!

What style of building will you be putting up? And, if you don't mind me asking, what type of work is your business?

That has not been decided yet, definitely something that fits the property aesthetically. I'm thinking a straight up "red barn" or something similar to Buickfarmers Faux dealership build. Maybr a wwII Quansot Hut. Definitely not gonna just do a simple steel building, even though realistically that is what I can afford...

As far as what I do...I guess you could say I am a "picker" or something along those lines. Basically I sell classic car parts online and at swap meets, as well as build hot rods. I also sell other vintage goods. Occasionally do carpentry work if its appealing....Used to do lots of chimney and brick work as well.

What I'm looking at right now is lighting, floor coatings for the 2 garages and basement. Building a facilities and plumbing room around all the water equipment in the basement. The what ifs of putting up drywall. The number of shelves I can get in the basement. And set up ot the shops. I have the floor coating covered as I have a friend that manages a company that does it. One thing I am unsure of is lighting.
