My fuse box recently has been making a (WHISTLING?) type sound sometimes. Any idea what this means? Is it an overloaded circuit or bad fuse? Thanks:dunno:

Wind blowing into it from a conduit or connection to the meter socket outside?

I don't know of anything in a circuit breaker panel (or old fuse panel) that will make noise.

Is it a high pitched hum and not a whistle?

I have some CFLs that provide that nice feedback at the panel if I listen close enough.

Most likely wind blowing across or down the mast where the lines from the street come in.
