Hello!

New member here. Currently building a new house and looking for feedback from those who have used either a solid white or solid light grey colored Epoxy or Urea coating on their garage floors. I would love to do white as it keeps the space very bright and should make finding things dropped on the floor easy to locate. My main concern is having to clean it daily to keep it looking decent.

Bonus points if you're from the Midwest as winters can make the garage dirty very quickly.

Will I be cleaning this daily or should I go for it?

White epoxy floors look amazing, but they do require more maintenance to keep looking clean than a light colored gray floor will require. I would suggest clicking the link below to read an article we published about a GJ member who decided to apply a white epoxy coating system purchased from one of the vendors here. It covers the pros and cons as well as the materials required.

I did white armorpoxy in my 24x32 detached garage.

It shows dirt and shows minor scratches. I knew that before and accepted it. I’m happy with it. I might also be happy if I’d done light gray, but I’ll never know. I did not do any flakes, but I included the anti skid coating.

Armorpoxy support is top notch. I emailed them a few weeks ago about some yellow rustoleum overspray on a Sunday. They replied within a few hours and the solution was super easy...a eco friendly solvent. The overspray wiped off really easily.

My garage is my workshop. It has a lift, but I don’t use it for daily driver parking.

Boon, I went with a light gray with a very light broadcast of flake. I ordered the lightest amount, and still had a massive bag of flake left over. It really helped and made the floor pop brightly, but with enough flake to keep any marks or dings from showing up.\

EDIT: All these picture were taken with either outdoor light, or a few can lights. When I put T5 High Bays in there, it was BRIGHT!!!! Like angels coming down from heaven seeing the light. :D

Here is a project submitted by one of our customers.

White only works if you are the type of person who keeps the floor clean

We would recommend our www.armorcladepoxy.com in light gray. White is rather touch to keep clean in a garage that gets daily use. Ok for 'show car' garages, but not daily use in our opinion.
