I recently picked up a Whitney Jensen brake. Does anyone have any experience with this particular brake? It doesn’t have any model number. Not sure what the capacity of the brake is.

If you can get what looks to be overspray off the manufacturer tag in the middle, I'll bet it says the metal gauge.
Sweet looking brake! Looks alot like my dads old brake - his could do up to 16 gauge mild steel IIRC.

Put a piece of metal in it and see what it'll do. That's the easiest way.

My guess is 16ga soft steel. It looks to be about the same build level as my old Tennsmith.

It moves the fixed ram position, which changes the bend radius for thicker material.

Looks like a Whitney-Jensen "Air Conditioning Special". If so, it's a 20 ga capacity. Bed length should be about 49 inches.

To me it looks like it is for 18ga
Likly will do 16ga but you may loose bend quality if trying to do full width 16ga
