Whitworth guys, confusing Snap On socket here.

I really can't understand what's going on. Everything I've known about Snap On Whitworth tools puts a WF102 socket at 7/16W. But this one is labeled 3/8W.

Is this mislabeled because it seems like it should be part number WF101.

I know this seems pretty minor but I'd like to understand this. Thanks.

Thanks. That's what I see everywhere. I would certainly love to know why this socket is part number WF102 and is 3/8W. I've never seen one like it.

Snapmom solves several riddles like this before breakfast each morning. She'll be along shortly, I hope.

The 102 in whitworth is 3/8w when the conv. to BS came (1950s) it was changed to 7/16BS. Its the same size socket. Just a new updated type size.
thats a older socket you have, prob. 40s
