The title pretty much says it all. I stumbled across this old floor jack at a sale recently and am wondering if anybody here can tell me who may have built it, and what model number it might be? I looked it over but don’t see anything on it that identifies it. That plate you see on it is blank. There’s not much point in buying it if I can’t get replacement parts to rebuild it. And to know if they are even available I have to tell the supplier the make and model of the jack. This is a big one, and I’d be surprised if it’s rated at less than 4 tons.

Hiball, do you recognize it?

Appears to be one hell of a jack. If it's reasonably cheap I'd buy it. You can take it a part and measure the parts to get a match most likely.

I’m debating doing this. I just don’t want to end up with a boat anchor if I am unable to source replacement parts.

That jack is very tempting. It's got some really unique features, between the large front wheels, that round plate on top of the hydraulics, and the mounts for the rear casters.

However, I don't know that I would pay more than $50 for it - it's very possible that you won't find seal kits, due to it's age. If I were to buy it, I would be going into it with the knowledge that I might be redesigning the hydraulics to take widely available seals, and that would include lathe work and mill work.

I believe there is a old thread here at GJ discussing this jack, I don’t know if there was ever a definite answer, I believe it to me a Early Walker Hydraulic jack when they transitioned from mechanical to Hydraulic prior to the 782/4 series models.

The Lower Handle including the sector selection, pump pistons/hardware and frame pattern along with the rear caster setup compared to the mechanical series are what lead me down that path. If I get some time I’ll see if I can find the thread in question, I think Manley was also thrown into the Mix as a possible candidate.

On a side note... No way in Hell would I pre-purchase a kit/seals for that jack without first tearing it down and inspecting components. I’m certain that the seals will be available on a individual basis, but it’s a almost a guarantee that some cylinder work/ finishing will need to be done prior to installing the seals @ Minimum, it’s possible that a New cylinder/Hard parts will need to be made.
