Who Built this Vise?

Recently bought it from a guy off of craigslist. His Dad had worked for one of the big chemical plants in south Texas, and had recently passed. This vise had been "surplused out" by the plant. Son was selling off Dads tools so Mom could sell and move.

It's a massive vise with 6" jaws that open a full 9+ inches.
It weighs around 80+ lbs.

The only ID I can find is in the casting on the side where it says;

SUPREME MARK VI. It works like a champ. Worth $40 anyway.

First I've ever seen that name or a vise that looks like it. Nice score at $40. I'm sure you'll find a way to sleep at night <grin>.
