I have an MD-6XP. Love it.
I also have a four post: BendPak HD-9.
The mid-rise is easier for getting wheels off, quick detailing, etc.

Chris, Thanks for the reply, if I get one my plan is to use it mostly on my son's 600 Racing Legend Race Car. My four post works great but there's times it would be easier with one of these lifts, I also like the idea about being able to work on it outdoors ( can't move my four post outside ). A couple of things,

What is the height of your garage door and how big is your garage? I've been on the bubble about ordering one of these lifts, but I'm just not sure if it will work for me. As far as storage goes, I only drive the Mustang like once every two weeks, so I would probably park on top of the lift.
BTW, my garage is 20 X 20... do you think it would be practical?

After looking closer at your pics I noticed silver colored pucks on each rubber pad, do these come with the lift or is someting you came up with......doesn't look like the rubber pads are adjustable. This may not work for me because the ride height is different at all four corners of the race car.

I love my MD6XP ! its wonderful for my old back, I lift the chassis to a comfortable working height and don't feel bad at the end of the day.

My garage height is 10'. My garage is about 34' wide.. about 20' of that width (or the double door side) is 26' deep. The other 14' of width (single door side) is 36' deep - enough for two cars back to back.
You have plenty of room it seems for a scissor lift. You can park 'over' it if you needed too (assuming your Mustang has about 6" of ground clearance).
Those silver things are lifting pucks specifically designed for the Corvette to keep the lifting pads (rubber) from making contact with the fiberglass. Depending on the lifting points of your car/s, you can use either the base rubber pad - approx 2" high, the mid-sized lift pad extension - approx 4" additional height, or the tall lift pad extension - approx 6" additional height.
You can mix/match these on any of the four corners to achieve a 'level' car on the lift. I've lifted about 10 completely different types of cars on my scissor and never found a case where I couldn't mix/match the (supplied) lifting pads/extensions to achieve 'level'.
For example - when lifting my '69 Camaro, I use the base (pictured below) pads on the front sub-frame and need to use the mid-height extension on the rear to make contact with the leaf spring attachment point. No problem.
The pics below show you the base pads and extension pieces and also shows the arm adjustability - horizontally - for/aft and radially.

One more question, what is the inside distance between the lifts ramps.

Assuming you're referring to the wooden ramps adjacent to the scissor lift - 50" (width)

I'd say based on the .pdf below, it's about 21" of 'open' area (based on the .pdf, it's 19" between the two arm attachment points). I'll measure it tonight and re-post.

While you're measuring could you also measure how wide each ramp is ( pardon me for not knowing the correct name ), I do have the MD-6XP Floorplan you posted but I need more info to make sure the Legend car will work with this lift. Thanks

You guys are lucky to have such wide cars that you can get the arms out, my car pictured above the frame is narrower than the outside of the lift so the arms have to positioned inward. Makes it quite a pain to set up with the arms inside. My car has a 49" wheel span so inside of tire to inside of tire is about 47" and the lift must be about 48" wide since I can't get my car to straddle it.
If Dark Age can't get the measurements I will go measure the ramps, etc. when I get home from work.

I love my MD6XP too and works well for everthing but transmission and engine drops.
The only downside is the need for at least 5" ground clearance so the wooden ramp is a necessity for most cars.

My friend has one of these and his is tearing up the concrete where it rolls from lifting. Also looks like it would be hard to do transmission pulls.

MD6XP users i have a few questions...
what hydraulic fluid did you end up using? they are saying dexron III or 10w hydraulic oil but im not sure which is better for climate controlled garage.
and did the lift come with a wire and plug to plug it in or did you have to source that as well?
Side story... I have owned an Atlas TD6MR for a few years but have become increasingly frustrated fitting even small cars on it, as every vehicle seems to just barely fit or not fit on the lift. the BendPak has nearly 10 inches more reach, and im looking to it. Sold the atlas locally...

Looking to purchase one of these lifts, seeing some different info on the lift height. Bendpaks info says max height is 48” without pads. Ive seen several claims that lock positions are 22.5, 32.5 and 42.5. I called bendpak on this, they had to call me back but gave me those numbers and said thats the rise plus the platform thickness of 4.5 gets you 48”. I thought I was good but then saw a video showing the center lock position at 32.5” without a pad. So is 48” the max the hydraulics go and 42.5 is the lock position? This seems like the best designed lift but i want all the height I can get.
Ive seen Northern tool answer this question with the same numbers, i havent seen it published anywhere but theyre getting it somewhere.

I want to share my rolling seat solution for my BendPak MD-6XP and it will not let me post my links and pictures without 5 postings first. I will have to post 5 responses to this to get there and then I will post my links and pictures. This is my first post.
I have a BendPak MD-6XP scissor lift and I love my lift. I had the hardest time finding a rolling seat that was correct for my 6’ tall frame body. I first bought the Harbor Freight (HF) rolling mechanics seat. It had an adjustable hydraulic cylinder like an office chair but on the lowest setting it too high and kept my neck bent over in an uncomfortable position. I then thought I had the answer when I found a shorter hydraulic ram. I installed it and still too tall and my neck was bent under the car with the lift at the highest safety latch.
I finally found a perfect solution and it was less than $20 to build. I used a HF mini movers dolly, 2 pieces of 2x4 and 2 pieces of 2x6 wood, some deck screws, glue and a Garden Kneeling pad from Lowes Home improvement. This works great and allows for tools to be placed on the carpeted ledges under the seat. It is the perfect height and now why my casters wear out I unscrew the 4 screws and replaced the $7.99 dolly and it is new again. Here are the links for the products I used.

Only lift I found rated at 6600 (besides Titan which I think this is the oem to that one) and only one that they even claim to have safety tested. Very high quality and very heavy duty. From everything I found they're the manufacture in china, not rebranding someone elses lift like most of them out there.

I am not as tall as you but the one I posted in the same thread works really well. I can do brakes while seated.

When I go under the vehicle I just cannot stand to keep my neck bent over in a hunched position. My seal allows me full access without the neck aches I had with taller seats.
My Back on guide board
Tonight I wanted to post my solution to backing onto my Bendpak MD-6XP without having someone help guide me. I went to Lowe's and purchased a 2 foot by 4 foot piece of thin birch plywood. I then started marking off marks at 10 inches, 12 inches, through 20 inches in 2 inch intervals. I marked each side of the board like this and then used a straight edge and a fat sharpie to draw lines on the board. I marked the center of the 4 foot long section and marked my lift on the drivers side as I am backing on in the center of the main frame. I then used simple math to develop a chart that take widths of outside edge of rear tire to edge. I used 65 inches through 80 in 1 inch intervals. My theory was if the car was 69 inches wide edge to edge of tires then you take away 40 inches for the width of the lift and divide that by 2 to make that many inches on each side of the lift. Then I just open my drivers door as I am backing up and place the tire on the line that works on my chart for the car I am working on. My chart has my vehicles on it but if I have a friends car all I have to do is a quick tape measure. I use water based poly to seal my board and it did not run my sharpie lines. I also make notes on the board for reference points of car like front edge of rear door Accord so I know exactly how far back to put the car to be balanced. Remember my board is positive marked center to the mark on the lift so it is always at the same spot. The car is the only variable. I move my lift in the center of my carport when I use it and store it under the truck so I can put it where I want it and the guide board is always in the same spot in relation to the lift. It truly works great for me.
