Don't know if this really counts, haha. My wife put a very large Sears gift card in this when I asked for a new box a while back. Now it holds misc. air accessories.

I have oe of those, i use it to hold random nuts and bolts.
My grandpa and dad allways save every good nut and bolt, and it's nice to have lot of them to use when you need one.

Well it looks like I missed out on an opportunity to do a deal with Rickster for his box, as I was travelling Friday & didn’t get to contact him soon enough, before another member got in before me.

So I guess the old saying holds true…… “You snooze you lose” :(

So if anyone else has one of those KRA65C boxes & they are thinking of selling please do let me know, as I’d be very interested in seeing if a deal could be struck to give it a new home, this side of the Atlantic.

I own an old Kraueter box that my dad gave me when I was about 6. I am now 25, and am in the process of loading it with quality tools and using it as my every day box. I will post up a picture or two of the box tonight. This thread has inspired me to pare down what I will actually need.

Thanks for that, but unfortunately by the time I got to see this, the auction had ended :(

However, there was a link on the auction page to another similar box, which I’m now in the running for. So hopefully the eBay Gods will smile on me & I just might ****** it :)

What all tools are in that Box Y'sguy? That thing is packed... must be a hundred wrenches in there. I agree with the 1/4 ratchet theory, i don't see the need for all these drive sizes in most general repair situations. That is why i will be buying the tL72 pretty soon.

I have one of those boxes filled with allen keys.Glad it's not bigger since it's the one my exwife threw at me in one of our last fights before the divorce.Damn things are solid enough without being any bigger.I had a hell of a bruise on my back that day.Had to pick up about 75 allen keys from the garage floor.

Let me know when you find that right job... i've thought about changing my job already twice today! All these pictures of Snap-on tools aren't making it any easier.

I just put one together... requirements were, $100, 10lbs, and fit under the seat of my truck.

It ended up pretty close to that price (under if you count what I already had), 11.5lbs, and only 12"x8"x3", which is pretty tiny.

It's the hard bag that came with my Milwaukee M12 bit driver, and it was perfect, since I didn't have to pay a dime.

I've got everything I could concievably need to do general repairs when I'm somewhere without my full set. Normally I condemn those silly little stubby hammers, but in this case, $2 for one on clearance and it fit my needs perfectly.

I also have one of those yankee handyman hand drills in the kit, but it's in my truck right now, I forgot to put it back before the picture.

Let me know when you find one... i love that box. Of course it is hard to find, everything i want is hard to find. You can't even find small metal tool boxes made by Snap-on anymore. Everything is all about bigger, faster, more elaborate setups these days.

Can't wait to fill this one up. This is a terrific form factor. Why did Snap-On discontinue!?

The harsh sunlight doesn't do justice to the paint on the inside. Exterior patina is top notch, too. :)

Love it - dig the Mac logo in the handle. Nice!

I have one of these boxes like the OP posted. I had never seen one before until I came across one for sale last year. Right now I think I only have a few blue point extensions in it. Sad I know

Those small boxes are going for upwards of 150 dollars on Ebay right now. Wish i had the money for it right now. It would be great for hauling out to the driveway.

Call it the Garage Journal effect. More people reading, here, than posting.

I snagged mine quickly after the post for $50 shipped, but the next few went for triple.

I bet it calms down in a little bit once folks get theirs and sellers start looking for them.

Found another one at a live auction yesterday, if I hadn't known what to look for I'd have gone right past it. Filled with USA taps and a few dies, thread cleaning files, and a bunch of desiccant. This seems like a full use of the box, though the top is a bit overloaded at full extension.

This one is my Scout box, it rides under the seat. It's SAE only, but I can throw a few mm sockets in there if I'm headed to the junkyard, or expect to be assembling Ikea at the destination, etc.

It's a small but pretty capable box, it's amazing what these things can hold!

Enjoy.

They're terrific little boxes. Others have noted the latching mechanism could be more secure; I need to replace the lock cylinder on mine to feel a little better hand carrying it.

They can be had on eBay but at the prices they're fetching, I'm tempted to sell my other one. Don't get me wrong, they're worth every penny. Solid little box.

A former GF had the smallest box I'd ever had the pleasure of working with. She kept it well oiled and maintained and the fit was always super tight. Didn't cost $160 either.

Well given that the OP works in Aviation, I'd reckon it's a hammer used to tap along the length of rotor blades & propellers . Then based on the sound generated by the tapping, you can probably tell if there's any inconsistencies or other issues with the blade.

We have a whole box of these little guys up in the warehouse. I don't even have them listed online because I thought nobody would want them. If there's interest in tiny boxes I could make a great price of $5.00. They're blank USA red boxes.

What is a sounding hammer? Never heard of those...

Yup. It gets used for a lot more than just blades. Most semi-modern aircraft use a lot of composite or honeycomb panel construction, you can find a delamination or void easily with it. Unless you're totally tone-deaf; in which case it doesn't work too well.

Check out this little Kennedy I picked up today. It's a model #613 in the Brown krinkle finish with three metal shelves that fold out when you open th top. It's 13 inches wide by 7 in deep by 8 in tall. Pretty cool!

Every former girlfriend had such a box, and every one cost far, far more than $160 in the final analysis...
