Im in need of a finger control for my tig torch. The ssc looks good. Putting the tig pedal between legs is no fun. Or if i have to climb a ladder,no place for foot pedal. Just looking for a real world review. Thanks guys

Cant speak for that switch but, I'm quite fond of Millers RMS-14 momentary switch.
Been using them for years. Compact, comfortable little package.

Is it just me, I could not find the ssc finger control in their product menu, I did find it thru a google link though. It seems they are out of stock.
You've probably seen the north/south and side to side (or east/west) switches. Arc Zone and others have these, also I've heard good things about the TIG button.

The ssc is out of stock. I like the idea behind it because its like a mini foot pedal in your hands. I think the tig botton does the same thing.

Im waiting to hear back from ssc for when they are back in stock. They list a shop not far from me as a dealer or their products.

I know it’s a necro thread, but I just bought one and had a few minutes to play with it last night.
WOW!
My first finger control was a Miller East/West knob, and it totally sucked! I was never able to use it for anything more than an on off switch, and a simple momentary button would have been much easier.
That’s what drove me in 2004 to buy my SSC pedal, which I still love to this day.
But the pedal is not great in all positions, and I have a job coming up that requires being on the floor, so I went looking for something better, which led me to the SSC Touch 4. It’s a fraction of the price of the alternatives (TIG Button and CK Steady Grip), and looked more rugged as well.
To make a long story short, it has exceeded every one of my expectations. To the point that I just ordered a new air cooled torch to go with it, since I think I may be using this more often now (the pedal will remain connected with my water cooled torch). And my hardly used Miller RCCS-14 is going on eBay as soon as I have the time to list it.
It’s not replacing my pedal, but if I didn’t have a pedal already, it probably could. The four levels work just fine for me, and I see no need for a continuous range of power. They really got everything about it just right.

How do you like the 220? That is on the short list for my next welder. Have you stick welded with it yet?
I know it's a regional thing, but something to consider:
- I know the USA is very fond of foot pedals.
- In Europe, we weld things with the same level of complexity, most often without a pedal. Several (european) welding machine manufacturers offer the option to "program" a second current (sometimes with the option to use a down/upslope), that you activate using a button on the torch. So in case the weld pool gets too hot, you push a button, current lowers to the programmed value, you push again and you can continue welding. Especially handy when you're on your back, or everywhere else where a foot pedal isn't feasible.
