Who made Plews tools (USA)?

Does anyone know much about Plews tools? I just took a chance on a Plews double flaring tool set. It's USA made and looks identical to the USA K-D tools set. I'm wondering if possible they are the same as well as any other history on the brand. I see a lot of NOS Plews automotive tools on ebay. They valuable??
