Hi guys  New here but wondered if anyone could help me identify the maker of this jack? Found myself in need of another jack lately and found this one under the bench of my dear departed Dad's shop. I remember it being around as long as I can remember(40+ years) but rarely do I remember it being used. Floor jacks were used more than anything there. I just assumed it didn't work but dug it out and cleaned some crud off it and it appears to work so far. There is a problem with the release, had a heck of a time getting it to go back down but seems the more its used the better its working.

I'm debating about trying to find a kit for it and do a rebuild on it since the ram and the pump piston are not very polished anymore. Only markings I can find on it are on the base in the front. It says "Made in USA" and "CAP 3 TON".

Any ideas?

My gut tells me the OEM is Hein Werner, Is it a 3 ton or 5 ton?

BTW I don't think that Release is OEM equipment.. LOL

Thanks!

It says its a 3 ton jack. As for the release, lets just say Dad was.....resourceful. lol  He was a full time machinist and part time farmer so things were rebuilt/repaired on a regular basis. Not sure what surprises I will find when I take it apart.

I think its had a rough past, if you look close in one of the pics you will see a silver line along the base. That would a be a bead of weld from a nickel rod, and on the ram near the top it looks like the ram had cracked at one time by the screw and had been repaired and machined.
