Who made this socket set?

Picked this up this morning at an estate sale. No maker name on the set just "Made in U.S.A.". I'm hoping somebody can tell me who made it. I also noticed the next to last "socket" doesn't appear to actually be a socket but I have no idea what it is. Thoughts?

I tossed a bunch of tools I was interested in into a Tupperware bowl and paid $10 for them. I'll post all the tools in the garage sale thread later.

Any info is much appreciated!

It's a socket for knurled thumbscrews commonly found on vintage radio sets. I'll post a link in a minute.

Sometimes the holder gives it away. This time I cannot guess. Other times it can be guessed from close up pictures of the sockets. Each maker had different markings or knurling.

I wonder if they could be Duro/Indestro? With your find of the other Indestro sockets at the same sale it made me think this is a possibility? According to AA, Duro didn't mark their early hex sockets, and the knurling design looks like a match.

Also, AA mentioned that sometimes Duro would put their trapazoid shaped D logo on the sockets.

No markings on the sides, ends or bottom of the tray. I'll take the sockets out, wipe down the inside of the tray and see if it has any marks. I doubt it but worth checking.

That sure looks like it! Down to the same sockets and red metal tray. However, the decal is gone on mine from the end and the ell-handle only says "Made in U.S.A." with no patent date. I went out to the shop and there is also no patent date on the bottom of the tray as in the example on AA. Great to know who made 'em! I think this is the first and only None Better branded tools. It's a cool little socket set. Nice knowing it's probably from the '30s.

I wonder what it means that it's missing two patent dates mentioned by AA?
