According Hoffmann website state Garant is their premium own brand. But I saw many Garant tools look like others brands such as spanner like Stahlwille // Vise like Leinen etc. Someone said they do not make themself but let others make for them.

My questions are

1.What company make Garant socket wrench set for them?

2.For others type of tools (spanner , screwdiver etc) who make for Hoffmann goods (Garant and Holex)?

3.What is difference between Garant and their original company who make product for them in term of quality such as socket wrench set for example.

Thanks,
Kul

the Garant sockets/ratchets seems to be from Stahlwille and Koken, the wrenches from Stahlwille, the screwdrivers are from PB Swiss and the Holex screwdrivers seem to be from Wiha

Brought up this old thread as I recently picked up a Garant 1/2" drive socket set. It appears to be made by Stahlwille, although it has a plastic case. It's a quality set of tools, and I like the satin finish. Can any GJ members who have Stahlwille sockets determine if they appear to made by Stahlwille or Koken?

Thanks,

I like the concept of that set, if its decent quality made in germany, etc. please let use know how it goes. The swissgrip handle looks interesting too. Some people were complaining the latest gen stahwille rubber grips were not very durable, I wonder if the proven PB swiss ones may even me a modest improvement/?

I'm just perplexed that there appears to be no square drive, looking at the back side of the ratchet in that picture!?!? :wtf:

And is it really a PB Swiss grip handle?

I've used the set a few times, and I like it, but doubt I'll ever use the sliding T-bar handle. W'll see how the rubber handle holds up to moderate grease and dirt as I use it to work on my car. I had that same concern with an S-K breaker bar I bought several years ago, and it turned out to be no big deal.

Hey, good catch on your part! When I first got the set, the ratchet was all gummed up. Later, after cleaning it, I assembled the socket drive in the wrong direction (I didn’t even know you could do that), and took the first pic. After realizing it, I turned the drive around, and took another pic.
Looks better now.

Sorry, don’t know about the handle; that’s why I wondered whether it was a Stahlwille set, or possibly a copy.
