Who makes a good grinding stone?

I've been using my 8" bench grinder quite a bit lately and I've noticed the wheel that came with it is wearing quickly. I was about to buy a cheap replacement at the local import tool store, but from hanging out here too much, I've decided to seek out a better quality stone . . . . Who makes 'em and who sells 'em?

Thanks!

Norton or Carborundum, Norton would be my first choice.

Carborundum? Isn't that made in Brazil? I've seen Carborundum angle grinder disks for very cheap at Princess Auto. I had no idea they were of decent quality. Too bad they only had the angle grinder discs and no bench grinder ones.

The 8" wheels we have used at work say USA on them, I’m sure like most companies they manufacture products in different countries.
