PB Swiss make different types that are nice too.

Snap On still offer their hard handle ratcheting version, it's buried away in the catalogue, and it's usually the soft handle they are pushing on 'special', but the hard handle version is a nicer tool to use!

If you like the soft handle, then another vote for the PB Swiss, although the Wiha is perfectly acceptable and probably easier to source!

I cant stand the snap-on hard handle wratcheting screwdrivers. Not nearly as versatile as the interchangable shank style. The wratcheting mech is not as smooth either. I chose to turn a hard handle wiha everyday for years instead of use the old style snap. As a matter of fact I dismissed wratcheting screwdrivers as all garbage until I tried a friends newer snap soft grip style.

The hard handle is shorter, so it fits into a few places that my soft handle will not. But both are longer than the non-ratching holders I have (which are all no-name cheap ****).

The ratcheting mechanism in both the Snap On hard and soft handles are the same. Probably just needed some breaking in. Twirl it in your fingers while watching a TV show, and it'll get amazingly smooth.

^ Agreed. I have two identical SO ratchet screwdrivers, both about the same age too - one is my daily user, and one is my backup in case I lose the daily (it's happened before!), and even though the ratchet mech's in both are the same, the daily user feels much softer than the backup, simply because it's been used more, and broken in.

I like my Wiha because I can store bits in the handle but I really like the feel of my PB Swiss 8452:
