Who Makes Deep Sockets with External Hex Flats

Similar to sparkplug sockets, but with no skips. Astro (and a whole host of other companies) make nano stubby sockets that have either a 17mm or 19mm external hex drive which is excellent, but I want a deep version - makes for tightening recessed strut nuts a cinch that also require a counterhold. This allows me to use one normal torque adapter across a myriad of sizes. Offset torque adapters might not fit everywhere, hence my apprehension in investing lots of dollars in them.

I've never seen what you are asking for but for the application you mention a pass through set may be the ticket. Works for me.

Most pass through sets have proprietary spline drives and I can't say I've seen deep versions, I want to be able to tighten with a normal torque adapter and torque wrench:

Except when it isn't deep enough, and doesn't allow you to use a normal torque wrench.

You could buy a cheap set of 1/2 deep sockets and grind wrench flats into them. Crows foot and torque wrench on the flats and drop a hex through the anvil hole.

Whole heck of a lot cheaper than $300+ for tools that see infrequent use.

Ko-ken makes a chrome wheel nut socket close to what you are describing with the caveats that they are not quite as long as a typical deep socket and I think they only come in the sizes 17, 19, and 21mm.

Pelican and Turner are both owned by ECS now - so they're all the same.

FCP Euro is a good competitor option (best warranty / guarantee anywhere), as is USP Motorsport for parts pricing on OE parts.

Europeans have tools that some cars engineer the service around. It's why I have deep offset metric double box set which is probably what you need if this job falls under a fiat or vw brand.
