I've been putting together an assortment of tools for a road bag, and thought it'd be cool to throw a Martin Adjustable wrench in there since I really can't afford pretty much any of their other wrenches.

Its a beautiful wrench and I got it from Ebay.

But now I'm curious if all it is is a rebrand from another company.

Does anyone know if Martin produces their own adjustable wrenches ?

Also, what about the combo wrenches?

I don't know how old it is but many on here say that all current USA adjustables are western forge rebrands.

I think their combos used to be wright but not 100%on that.

Fxr is right, they are probably WF made. I think WF is pretty much the only USA made adjustable game in town nowadays. Besides Ampco and Berylco non-sparking.

I don't know the answer to your question. Here's an adjustable from their website:

My Dad used to work at the local foundry plant, but they make giant sprockets and parts for large machinery there. At one point I had 4 uncles working there also.

In fact, I recall my Dad had a few of their Martin combo wrenches. I vaguely recall they have their own tool foundry, but don't know what they make.

I’m certain the current production is WF but I don’t know if that was always the case.

Isn’t the Martin tool forge the old Fairmount plant? Martin still makes engineer wrenches, which I like.

Yes they bought them quite awhile ago now and I'm not sure how much of the machinery they moved from Ohio but the body tools they make are certainly very popular and sell well. The hand tools aside from the angle and Hydraulic wrenches are made well and are very industrial in fit and finish but are tough. I also would like to know how much of the tool line Martin makes and what they just resell rebranded. I do have alot of their body tools and all metric and inch angle and hydraulic wrench sets and a few wrenches but have never seen anybody stocking the other items any where around here.

Definitely Western Forge.

I see hubs, sprockets, sheaves, and all that jazz by Martin all the time, but recently acquired a set of adjustable hook-spanners by them. Good stuff! I'm almost tempted to buy some combo wrenches now!

The adjustables are clearly Western Forge. If you blow the photos up you can se the WF stamping on the handle.

This photo is from two days ago at a supply house. I commented to the counter guy that it was nice to see a display of American made tools. I wondered about the adjustables too. The only thing I handled was a 3/4 ratchet, leaving me curious who makes the current drive tools as well.
