Who makes PLASTIC WRENCHES?

Hi all,

This morning I was putting back together a Boice Crane (Wilton) bench grinder that I restored, and several times I wished I had light duty plastic non marring wrenches- just for holding a nut against the fresh paint. (No heavy torque needed).

All I could find out there were the Genuine Hotrod Hardware All-Plastic Wrenches. Theses are box end. Link- http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bjo-ithbwk3xngl/media/images Pic below.

Does anyone make combination wrenches in plastic. (Does anyone on GJ mill plastic that would be interested in creating a set if GJ demand was high enough?)

Thanks.

Yrs ago, out technical support folks had box wrench sets that were covered in plastic as not to create the posibilities of contact with other stuff when working on high current power supplies. So I know they do exist, Just don't know what you would call them!!

I made some 'jaws' a couple of times for wrenches, and you could just put some single side sticky tape on a bigger wrench....

If you have access a tiny leatherstrap wrench....
Soft pine open end wrench can be made in about a minute....

The plastic wrenches will chip paint also.

Too too many quick/better alternatives to have an almost useless set of plastic wrenches in your box.

Good info. I like the Pine idea. This is very cool. Thanks.
