I saw a post on here saying Knipex, but that seems just silly, since Knipex is German made and Snap On pliers say USA made on them. Is it Snap On themselves?
Who makes Snap On pliers?

Their locking pliers are Grip On (which are amaing by the way) made in Spain. I have seen a blue point Knipex crimper though. But yes, for the most part they are USA made

I have that set. They are great. I couldn't find another USA made set that long. Snap on makes them on their own as others have said. And yes the box does say USA not the tool but that is changing I guess

I own several pairs of Snap On pliers and I've always understood that they were made by Snap On themselves. A Snap On catalogue from a few years back listed the various Snap On plants and what was made there. I'm fairly sure pliers were included in the list, and I've never seen pliers identical to Snap On with any other brand name on them! Good pliers too! Just a shame they discontinued the classic "all steel" handled models!
I knew I had read the Wilde made something for them, but could not remember what. Thanks, SK!

Fair enough! I was thinking of the most popular models such as Linemans, long nose and cutters, which are what I own! I don't doubt many of the specialist models are bought in! Still good quality and U.S.A. made though!

I wAs in tsc and saw one of those and thought oh well so i bought one. It was great and has saved my **** working on a 400 Big cam cummings Better quality than i thought !!

I think they make the Bluepoint version of those battery pliers
Snap on branded pliers I think are mostly made by them. I use snap on pliers 90% of the time and am very impressed with them

Back in the day Snap-On had the pliers made by Vacuum Grip. later, Snap On acquired Vacuum Grip and continued making them. For the US built pliers it's probably still whatever remnants of the original company doing it.

Nice to know about the pliers. I have a really old set of pliers that I found in my dad's old tool box. I have to see when they were made.

There is no substitute for certain snap on pliers. There is a reason you're looking at those specific pliers.

I know, lol, my entire tool box is full of SO tools. I am just changing jobs and franchisees.
