Who makes the hammers for Snap-on again?

Which hammers to they make? The Red-composite shot-filled dead blows? Because if so, I have always wondered who was the OEM of those, they look IDENTICAL to the other tool truck hammers out there!

On Vaughan ball peins (Blue Point) they don't warranty wooden handle, I was told.

I've seen a couple guys warranty mangled up SO urethane dead blow hammers, but don't know if that was policy or just the driver's discretion. Once I saw him turn away a guy without a receipt, and I got the feeling the guy picked it up at a flea market

I've wanted one of those red ones too. The price though For some reason I can't go for it.

I don't have a SO dealer, never bought anything directly off the truck. last time i spoke with a dealer was few years ago, he told me SO's policy is NO lifetime warranty on anything Plastic, Wooden and rubber. I walked up to him at one of his stops asking about the warranty on the SO badged Precision Instrument split beam torqwrench, he told me the only part under lifetime warranty is the gears in the ratchet head.

so, it's hard to say what kind of warranty you got from SO on this type of hammers. but, Trusty Cook is only 20 minutes away from me, I'll probably pay it a visit some time next week.

HBFE series hammers carry a lifetime warranty no questions asked. if you have an old orange one it will crack and explode one day. if they are frozen when you use them they really explode.
any hammer warranty questions I will answer.
wooden handles correct no warranty you miss and hit a sharp edge and you might bust it.

they make them though. i'm sure snap on has a proprietary handle so they look different than those made for MAC,MATCO etc.

Tony, my Snap On dealer replaced my orange handled piston hammer that the handle failed.

The trusty cook is the same as mac/cornwell!! The snap on are made of a softer material that does not hold up well.

well one major advantage for my aviation customers is the FOD ( foreign object damage ) prevention. cheaper hammers do not encapsulate the steel shot in the head. when 2-3000 pieces of steel shot hit the top of an aircraft it takes days to find all of the pieces.

I had a split beam SO torque wrench from '90 or so. I was also told the gears were a warranty item, but they no longer had parts for the wrench. It was beat up anyway, and is now welded and functions as a nice breaker bar.
