I was at sears the other day and i saw these on sale. They kinda look like an IR. i like the compact one on the right. The $129 price tag is wrong as i put them together for the pic. I think it was $159 for the compact one

I have the one on the left. It is an IR2131 (don't remember exactly which variation). The other two I believe are made (read imported) by Florida Pnuematic. The CMan Pro Air Ratchet is also a Florida Pneumatic.

Like those above, I'm guessing IR for the left unit.

With the current and long on-going phase-out of the Craftsman professional line, good deals are to be had, but buy wisely.

The one on the left is a chrome version of the ir2131.
This is made to run all day, every day and repair parts
are available. The others? Some place in China!

I thought about the earthquake line. I already have the 3/8" i paid $20 for it used & it looks new with no marks on it. Its the older model & it works good. I actually do not need a new impact as i have enough but the compact one looked pretty good & is small. The sears sale ended yesterday so its too late. The only reason i asked was because i bought a $400 gift card for $200, .50¢ on the dollar. Id pay half price for it. Ill buy something else from sears.

So where is the one on the left manufactured? I'm assuming nowadays that ALL impact wrenches and power tools are made in China regardless of the "brand".

I was shocked as hell to find that both my Craftsman Professional impact wrench and drill were made in the U.S.A., but I don't use either much anymore because they aren't cordless (and the impact is finally starting to lose its power). Since I finally got an air compressor I'd love to get a USA-made impact wrench.

IR both produces over seas and assembles/produces many components in the USA. It simply depends on the model. Check the box on the Cman and it will either say made in asia or assembled in USA. Your only other alternatives are Snap-On [made in USA but priced 2-3x higher than the competition] and Aircat [twin hammer models only-assembled in USA].

Aircat is probably the most affordable assembled in USA impact with the 1100-K 1/2" gun running around $150. After that the only IR guns im sure are USA are the TiMAX series which brings you into the $200-$250 price range.
