Who Makes These?

I have these Blue Point automatic wire strippers. They are quite handy and work in very restrictive quarters. They have an adjustable stop automatically adjust wire sizes AWG 12 to 20 and wire cutters.

I know SO rebrands these and they are German does anyone know who actually makes them?

I'm 88% sure those are Knipex.

I'm not a 100% either but I own one from both Snap-on and Mac and they are identical to each other. I have seen the same strippers in a hardware store under another name as well. Merk may be right......I have seen Knipex branded strippers like this too.

I can say this: You can pull the red caps on the sides and swap them depending on which tool truck shows up first! I've done this once or twice!

There are a lot of different brands using the jokari tools: Hazet, Gedore, Cimco, CK, Orion, VBW, Bernstein, Format, Thomas & Betts, Weicon, Promat.....

That "Jokari" doesn't sound German; it sounds Japanese.

THanks for the legwork. While there are some subtle differences it looks like Jokari is the one.

If anyone is looking for automatic wire strippers these are great, although somewhat pricey from SO. That's why I was trying to find the OEM.

Merkava, it sounds japanese to me, too.

According to the SO website it's Germany. The paperwork that came with it also indicates Germany. I can't remember if the tool itself is marked and I don't have it to check.
