I need a new ball bearing slide for my Husky tool box, so I go to home depot. apparently its not that easy. They give me a 1-800 number to call. The person on the phone informs me that many diffrent manufacturers have built for husky over the years, and I would need to find our who it was, and contact them. I can't find a model # or manufacturer name on the box. I bought it used about 12 years ago. Its a tony stewart edition box. does anyone know what manufacturer made this box, or where I can find a model # or identification?

Throwaway society. It's better for their bottom line to sell you a brand new Chinese made box rather than sell you a $40 ball bearing slides kit. Thus they don't make it easy.

How is not selling a potential incorrect part equaling them trying to sell a new box? No different than me going to a chevy dealer and asking for an oil filter that fits some kind of early 2000's Chevy car. Does them not selling me a filter equal them wanting to sell me a new car?

Different manufacturers use different parts, so they (HD) is being helpful by not selling a part that could be the wrong one. After getting the wrong part, someone (not saying blackice would, but there are those out there that would) would be on this site bitching about how HD sold them incorrect parts and how they should have asked about a model number.

Blackice, on my box (18-ish year old box) was made by Beech in Canada (same as the Mac Economizer line of boxes). If i remember correctly, the box number is stamped on the back of the box, near the top. Check the slider as well, there might be a part number on it as well.

i searched high and low today, no identification on this box. I did find a # on the slider, but searching it on google did nothing. the number was 101967a.

I have a red Husky combo similar to yours. Its at least 10 years old. My wife actually bought it for me as a gift. A year later I wanted to buy a side box for it. That was just about the time HD was going from red to black on their boxes. I had to call Stanley Tool Works in CT. They were able to give me the correct skew number so I could order it through the local HD.
A year later I wanted to buy another side box for the other side. Went to HD with the paperwork from the other side box and it was no longer available. Called Stanley. They gave me the direct number for the factory that was making the boxes for them. It was in Smith Falls Ontario. The customer rep at the factory told me they made boxes for Stanley Tool which included Proto, Blackhawk, Mac, and Husky for HD. They also made boxes for Beach in Canada.
I had the option of buying a Mac box which was the same exact color and shape with heavy duty ball bearing slides but I would have to get it from the Mac truck for big $$ or buy one made for Beach. That one would have 1 less thin drawer but 1 deeper one and it would have plain slides. I opted for that since theres only light stuff in the side boxes anyway. Color and shape was a 100% match.
Im pretty sure that plant closed but you should call Stanley and explain your situation. Maybe if you mention the Smith Falls plant someone can point you in the right direction.

I Believe Beach is gone from Smith falls. They made great tough boxes of all sizes.
Too bad a great old Canadian company bought out awhile back by Stanley who pretty much ruined the great reputation Beach had built up over
the years.

Looks like my proto J444142-15BK or a Mac MB5241 . I found that www.cometsupply.com sells the replacement drawer slides 046353 & 045354 for $4.44 each. those part numbers came directly off of the accuride slide on my box. See the thread for detailed pictures http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=268606 . you could also get those slides through proto if they are in fact the same.

For future reference... looks exactly like my Husky box made by Waterloo, if someone swapped 2 rows of 2" drawers out of that roller with the top row of 4" drawers in the top.

But I'd skip Waterloo too, and buy by the part # themacaddict supplied. :D

The bottom chest looks exactly like my Proto, who I believe either makes the MAC chests or shares production facilities with them.
