Before I pull the trigger, does anybody have any feedback on this toolbox? All I could find was Balkamp being the distributor. Price seems good but was wondering how it compared to others in the less than $500 price range. I was trying to find what guage steel is used and the drawer weight rating just to have and idea of quality.

Free shipping and 20% off eligible? I think it's worth it to send it and if you don't like it, sell it on Marketplace

I called up my store and they didn't know much about this box. However, he said he could overnight it and I could take a look at it in store tomorrow...I thought that was great customer service. I'll see how it compares to that HF $499 one.

Are they cool with you not buying it? Returns would probably be difficult for them to their warehouse, not to mention storing it in the meantime. Also, if they order it in will they honor the 20% off? Looks like it's online only

Personally I think it will be closer to Yukon than USG based on price

Yea the guy said I wouldn't have to buy it if I didn't like it. If I decided to buy it he said I could order online using the 20% off code, choose pick up in store and get the one already there. Sounds too easy but we'll see. I just want to make sure it's not junk considering price.

I can't find that on NAPA's website. Do you have a link?

Looks like about a 42" box or so with a built-in power strip. I'm sure it isn't the world's best box but it is coming in at about half of what others cost.

I wouldn't expect a whole lot from that box. According to the napa site it weighs 82 lbs. In comparison, the HF 5 drawer cart weighs 120 lbs.

I was thinking the same thing. I’m hoping the weight is a typo. It should arrive in store tomorrow and I’ll check it out.

I’d like to hear what you think of it. It looks almost identical to the husky box. If it is decent then it is a good deal for $291 and free shipping.

I’ve been searching for a good box around $500 and randomly came across this online. I’ll report back once I get my hands on it.

I called my store this afternoon on the way there just to make sure they got it in and sure enough I was told they forgot to place the order 😡. However I was able to get specs from one of the employees 37”H 48”W 18”D. She also confirmed weight of 82lbs which means it’s thinner gauge steel and not something I’d be interested in. Back to searching again. Anybody have any recommendations for a tool chest in the $500 price range or should I just get the US General 44”?

Are you still going to look at it in person?

For $500 you could pry find a used Mac or Matco box. I was able to pick up a Matco double bay with a little rust on the bottom edges for $300 recently

By confirming the weight she probably just read the same spec you did. I’d still like to see it.

Looking at several other similar boxes after typing "46 inch ,9 drawer ,black, powder coat " into Google I come up with several boxes in the 180 lb range....which I believe is closer to correct on this box. No doubt the HF 44" is heavier, more stout and also 4" deeper, but isn't $270 + tax either.

While I have no idea who the OEM is, I am willing to bet it's the same 46" box Husky sells at HD.

46" x 24" x 37"
238LBS
SKU #1002 281 1059

I had one for awhile. Good box. Sturdy. Overpriced and the drawer layout didn't work for me.

HD also sells the box under the International brand name. Same box, more expensive and different colors.

Visit your local HD or look online. You can see them for yourself.
